As part of the 2024 program, service members Kai Garcia and Annika Moran will be joining the Legacy team from January through November.

Kai and Annika will join the Preserve Stewardship Manager in the management of Legacy’s nature preserves, performing tasks such as invasive species treatment and removal, preserve infrastructure maintenance and kiosk building, vernal pool monitoring, and leading volunteer workdays.

“We are ecstatic to have Annika and Kai join our team this year,” Kyler Moran Legacy Preserve Stewardship Manager said. “Annika and Kai both have a great deal of experience working with and organizing volunteers, more so than we see from our typical cohort of AmeriCorps Members. Their passion for conservation combined with their strong backgrounds in volunteer engagement will build on the work accomplished by prior members while helping to support our newly expanded Preserve Volunteer Program.”
