Legacy Land Conservancy’s Stewardship Program provides the care our lands need to stay protected and vibrant ecosystems. Our mostly-volunteer program manages 280 acres of preserve properties for ecosystem health and accessibility to the public, and monitors over 3000 acres of conservation agreement private properties to ensure the terms of the agreement are being upheld.
This field season we are focusing on keeping our invasive-free areas looking good and collecting seeds to disperse in recently cleared areas. We are looking forward to our first prescribed burn at our Beckwith Preserve in the spring of 2016!
This past spring two of Legacy’s preserves were burned to control invasive species. Both sites have shown great improvements. Visit Sharon Hills
or Reichert Nature Preserve
to see the effects. Also at Reichert Nature preserve the floating dock was given a face lift and we have a new parking lot! For information on how to access the Reichert Preserve email firstname.lastname@example.org
