As we wrap up another successful stewardship season, we’re in awe of the amount of work our staff and volunteers have been able to accomplish this year. And, thanks to the loyal support of our 2023 Business Sponsors investing additional resources into our preserve stewardship program, we really extended our reach and deepened our impact!

Engaging a larger group of volunteers at more of our preserves and tripling the number of workdays compared to last year, the Business Sponsorship Program has been instrumental in driving our stewardship forward.

Throughout 15 workdays in 2023, over 120 volunteers spent 260 hours removing invasive plants like garlic mustard, autumn olive and buckthorn, cleaning up glass and trash, tending to Project Mow’s invasive plant-chomping sheep, monitoring vernal pools, and building a boardwalk!

Legacy’s staff spent an additional 380 hours on invasive plant removal and 58 hours maintaining trails and other preserve infrastructure!

Together, this season, that’s almost 700 hours devoted to creating more accessible spaces for our community to enjoy. >>>click here for the 2023 stewardship season recap

Legacy is proud to partner with our local business community. When they invest in us, the impact of our work is amplified. We are so grateful for the support we receive from our business sponsors!
