Volunteer Spotlight: Charity Steere

Charity Steere – Trustee & Photomonitoring Volunteer
March 2022

Charity is a passionate conservation champion who has focused her preservation efforts in and around the Waterloo Area most of her life. She began volunteering her time with Legacy in 2003 when Legacy (formally Washtenaw Land Trust) officially incorporated the Waterloo Land Conservancy Trust. Since then, she has logged over 1250 volunteer hours. And those are only the hours we know about! 😉

Charity currently serves as a Trustee, but has served multiple terms over the years beginning with her first term in 2004. She also participates in two committees, one of which she Chairs. When she’s not in an organizational meeting or editing and writing on Legacy’s behalf, you can also find her out in the field with her husband Bill photomonitoring multiple conservation easements throughout the year.

Her commitment to Legacy and devotion to conservation issues is truly inspirational. Thank you for all that you do, Charity!
