Dig out your running shoes, Legacy Land Conservancy is going for a run! Legacy has been chosen as one of the non-profit beneficiaries for the University of Michigan’s Big House 5K on April 10, 2022.
The Big House 5k is an annual 3.1-mile run, hosted by the University of Michigan’s Athletic Department in support of our community through charitable beneficiaries. The race takes place every spring to help raise funds for six local charities, with a route that winds through the University’s campus before ending on the 50-yard line of the Big House, Michigan Stadium.
After two years of holding virtual races due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s race will be held both in person and virtually. A minimum guarantee of $12 from each ticket sold is donated directly to the six beneficiary nonprofits. For Legacy, that means each ticket will help build a future of clean water, healthy ecosystems, accessible recreation, and a thriving farming community together.
The Big House 5K is a “fun run” – meaning everyone is welcome, regardless of their running ability. Participants are welcome to run, walk, roll, or stroll the route. Tickets for this year’s race are available at www.mgoblue.com/bighouse5k starting Jan. 15, 2022. Participants can register for either an in-person ticket, or join in with a virtual ticket. And if you’d like to support Legacy further in your race, you can make a direct contribution or start a fundraising team here.
