In 2008, Legacy Land Conservancy became one of the first conservancies in the nation to receive its accreditation. The land trust accreditation program recognizes conservancies that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands — forever. Legacy is currently seeking to renew its accreditation for an additional five years. The public comment period on this renewal is now open.
The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, awards accreditation. As part of this process, it conducts an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs.
