Workday at Beckwith Preserve – Remove invasive species’ garlic mustard and dame’s rocket

May 11 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

On May 11th from 10am-12pm, Legacy Land Conservancy will be leading a workday at Beckwith Preserve. Join us to help remove the invasive species garlic mustard and dame’s rocket. Additional tasks may include watering trees from our April 27th planting, as time and capacity allow.

Volunteers will be hand-pulling garlic mustard and dame’s rocket and disposing them in garbage bags (bags provided by Legacy!) so they don’t re-establish themselves after being pulled.

Please dress for the weather and in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Pants and closed toe shoes are a must, regardless of the temperature, to protect from poison ivy and getting scratched up while working outside.

Legacy will provide tools and work gloves, but you are welcome to bring your own if you have a pair you like. Don’t forget a water bottle and sunscreen. We also suggest you bring bug spray to reduce the risk of exposure to ticks and other biting insects. Meet at the parking lot off M-106 on the east side of Stockbridge, located at 2792 E M 106, Stockbridge, MI 49285.

Please RSVP by filling out this Google form
