Legacy Land Conservancy works on several exciting land protection and stewardship projects simultaneously throughout our tri-county service area. Whether the land is donated or purchased, the full cost to acquire the land from inquiry to close and then steward it forever is expensive.
Legacy strives to raise the full cost of each individual project before closing. Currently, we have 24 projects in the land acquisition pipeline that will cost a total of over $4M to protect.
For more information on any of these projects, please contact Krista Jacob at 734.780.6948 or [email protected].
Iron Creek Preserve – Protected! In 2024, Legacy acquired 79 acres in Washtenaw County which became Iron Creek Preserve–our 8th nature preserve!
In order to responsibly manage the property in perpetuity, Legacy is fundraising for a stewardship endowment to cover ongoing management costs. More than half has been raised by leveraging federal, state, and local funding sources, but over $400,000 is still needed. The public can help support fundraising efforts by donating here.
