Volunteer Workday 10/17/2026: Remove Buckthorn at Sharon Hills Preserve

Join Legacy Land Conservancy for a Sharon Hills Preserve workday on October 17th and help remove invasive species like buckthorn and autumn-olive. Following the workday, we will be leading a “Fall Color” hike, which will be a short and guided walk to admire and learn more about the turning fall foliage.
Sharon Hills Preserve features rolling hills shaped by glacial activity from the end of the last glacial period in southeastern Michigan. Many well-loved bird species call Sharon Hills home, from the wild turkey to sandhill cranes. With your help, we can maintain this important habitat.
REGISTER- Dress for the weather in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
- Wear a long sleeve shirt, pants, and closed toe shoes, regardless of the temperature to protect from poison ivy and ticks.
- Please bring a water bottle, bug spray, and sunscreen.
Legacy will provide tools and work gloves, but you are welcome to bring your own!
