Legacy Land Conservancy has been an accredited land trust through the Land Trust Accreditation Commission since 2009. The accreditation program verifies that Legacy has the policies and programs in place to keep our promise to protect land forever.
Transparency Through Accreditation
To maintain our accreditation, we must demonstrate that we adhere to the highest national standards for excellence and conservation permanence. We do this by completing a rigorous review process that examines fiscal accountability, organizational leadership, sound transactions, and lasting stewardship of the lands we conserve.
Our accreditation attests to our commitment to excellence through our adoption of "Land Trust Standards and Practices"—the ethical and technical guidelines for the responsible operation of a land trust—and verifies that we meet the accreditation requirements drawn from them.
Legacy Land Conservancy received re-accreditation from the Land Trust Accreditation Commission in August 2020.
