Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP) – Innovative, proactive, and voluntary program that helps farms of all sizes and commodities voluntarily prevent or minimize agricultural pollution risks.

Native Plant Nursery – Michigan native plant searchable database that provides info on habitat (light, moisture) and characteristics (height, bloom time and color) for many native plants. Search by characteristics, site characteristics, physiography, or name.
New Leaf Natives – Native plant nursery offering landscape design, planting installation, lawn alternatives, shoreline restoration, and more.
PlantWise – Creates, restores, and interprets native ecosystems and plant communities. Services include prescribed burns, invasive species control, native landscaping, management plans, and plant and animal inventories.
Restoring Nature With Fire – Prescribed burn contractor.
Wildtype – Native seed and plant seller. Provides restoration and preservation of native landscapes, invasive species management, native plant installation, site assessment, and botanical surveys.

Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) – Federal agency offering technical and financial assistance to help farmers, ranchers and forest landowners make improvements to the land they own or lease with information on topics like land use, soil types, and climate change.

Michigan Natural Features Inventory (MNFI) –Look under “data resources” for detailed information on Michigan’s plants and animals, Michigan’s natural communities, maps of historic land use, maps of land use change.
Wildflower Association of Michigan – Information on native plants, grants, landscaping, retail locations, and a learning hub.
Michigan Insect Identification –Use a dichotomous key to identify insects found in Michigan.
USDA Plants Database – General information, images, distribution maps, native plant status and more for plants growing in the United States and Canada.
Pollinator Partnership – Information about pollinators, beekeeping and gardening. Free pollinator-friendly planting guides are available by region.
Gardening for Butterflies – Monarch Watch lists native plants which are larval hosts for a variety of butterflies and food sources for caterpillars.
Wildflower Identification by Habitat Type – Though the information on this site is specific to Illinois, there is significant crossover with Michigan habitat types and plants.
Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center – This searchable database of native plants across the United States also connects to how-to articles, step-by-step guides, and additional native garden resources.
