Place: Lloyd and Mable Johnson Preserve – 4501 Platt Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48108

Volunteers will be collecting seeds from a variety of native plants, targeting species that are important nectar sources for pollinators. Seeds collected will be put to use in Legacy’s seed mix that is used to increase pollinator habitat within our preserves. Volunteers will receive a small bag of seeds to take home with them as well!

  • Dress for the weather and in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
  • Wear a long sleeve shirt, pants, and closed toe shoes, regardless of the temperature. It will help protect from poison ivy, ticks, and getting scratched up while working outside.
  • Bring a water bottle, bug spray, and sunscreen.
  • We will be walking through the prairie in search of seeds to collect, so be prepared to walk though tall grass

Legacy will provide tools, work gloves, and bags for seeds, but you are welcome to bring your own.
