Stewardship Program

Legacy Land Conservancy’s Stewardship Program provides the care our lands need to stay protected and vibrant ecosystems. Our mostly volunteer program manages 188 acres of preserve properties and monitors over 300 acres of conservation easements. 2011 Stewardship Project list:
100% Monitoring on 63 conservation agreement lands.
Conduct botanical surveys at all five of our preserves.
New entrance signs at all of our preserves.
Install a boardwalk through the wet portion of Creekshead Preserve and improve the trail entrance.
Maintain the invasive free status of Creekshead Preserve.
Expand the parking area at Floyd & Mabel Johnson Preserve.
Remove invasive shrubs from the buttonbush swamp at the Floyd & Mabel Johnson Preserve.
Beckwith’s oak/hickory forest will be invasive free by 2013.
